Nominations: “Film Music” and “Pop‑Symphonic Work, Operetta and Musical Theatre Music”

On August 24, the list of 40 finalists and special prize winners was published on the official website of the IV All‑Russian Competition of Young Composers “Partitura”. And on September 2, open concert auditions (readings) of their works will begin in the Great Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

The works of the finalists in the “Film Music” and “Pop‑Symphonic Work, Operetta Music and Musical” categories will be performed first. The Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra will perform the contestants’ music. Mikhail Golikov, artistic director and chief conductor of the TV BRICS International Symphony Orchestra, People’s Artist of the Kabardino‑Balkarian Republic, is at the conductor’s podium.

This season, the competition has noticeably become younger: the average age of the participants has dropped from 26 to 24 years. The youngest composer who submitted their work is only eight years old. And the programme of the first concert on September 2 includes, among other things, works by 15‑year‑old Miron Maksimov from Moscow and 17‑year‑old Mikhail Zlenko from Kostroma.

The names of the winners of the competition will be announced on November 20 at a gala concert in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. They will receive cash prizes and global media support from the competition's partner, the Orpheus Television and Radio Center.

The competition "Score" is organized by the Foundation for the Innovative Development of Culture, Education, and Science (FIRCON) with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the Union of Composers of Russia. The project’s partners are the Moscow Conservatory, the Moscow Academic Musical Theatre named after Stanislavsky and Nemirovich‑Danchenko, the Russian National Museum of Music, the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra (MSASO), and the Orpheus Broadcasting and Television Centre. The general partner is the Russian Musical Society.
